Vodacom Online - bad idea!

<p>On Friday, 17 February 2017, I ordered a new phone via contract on Vodacom's Online platform. I thought it was a great platform, at first, because one could cut out the middle man and be in complete control of one's order.<br />What happend next, is that on Saturday, I received a phonecall from an agent in their Sales department. I explained to her that I already concluded everything online and that I do not need any assistance, except to change my delivery address - this she did, so no problem there.<br /><br />On Monday, however, I received an email from Vodacom with a tracking number to 'track-and-trace' my parcel with RAM Courier service. Naturally, if one receives an email such as this, it is logical to assume that RAM received the handset and that it is set for delivery. Ofcourse, it hasn't been delivered.</p> <p>I am a financial adviser, so a big part of my job is done outside of my office. Therefor, I specifically did not make appointments for this week, because I know that they won't deliver the phone to anyone else if I am not in the office.</p> <p>Naturally, I phoned to query the status of my delivery. I spoke to an agent at Vodacom Online by the name of<strong> Lisa</strong>. She informed me that there is a backlog with the stock delivery and that they will only have stock on 26 February 2017. I rep**** by saying that some form of communication about this would have been appreciated. At this point, she completely lost her temper with me and actually had the audacity to tell me the following: <strong><em>"You decided to do this transaction Online and therefor we do not get any commission on your sale, so you will not receive any communication from us, since we don't get paid to assist you." </em></strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Keep in mind, that I haven't even gotten to the part about the tracking number received on Monday, which is actually the main course of concern. When she started ranting on, I just asked to be put through to a manager, which I wasn't, but that was the end of the conversation. So she did not even have all the facts.</p> <p> </p> <p>I still can't believe this! I don't deserve communication, from a service provider who is going to be making a huge sum of money from me for the next 24 months, because I did not use an agent to close the deal?! It is really unprofessional and I am so thoroughly unimpressed with Vodacom. I will never recommend Vodacom to anyone again, since it is clear that we are only worth to them as much as the number of zero's that we provide on their paychecks.</p> <p>I myself work on a commission basis, but let me just tell you that if I had that mindset or if I dared treat a customer as worthless because I don't get commission from them, I would be out of a job. </p> <p>If that is the morale with which Vodacom employs people, I don't see a bright future for the company. I would have loved to cancel everything and walk away, but the deal has already gone through.</p>

So, someone did actually phone me back, which I do appreciate. However, I can't turn my frown upside down, since once again, I am really disappointed.

When I spoke to the person who phoned me with regards to my complaint, I was informed that they would be receiving stock on 26 February and that I will have my phone, at the LATEST, on 28/02/2017. So yesterday I phoned to follow up and I was informed that the phone is with RAM Couriers.
I phoned the Courier and was informed that they haven't received anything from Vodacom. Wow, back to square one.
So I phoned Vodacom today again and was informed that there was no stock received on 26 Feb, they will only be receiving stock on 03/03/2017. But yesterday you told me the device was with the couriers???

I am definitely cancelling, I have had it with this pathetic service and false promises. I was informed that now, i would only be receiving the phone on 07/03/2017. I ordered this device on 17 Feb already! It is actually laughable... nothing easy or efficient about any of this.

When I asked to cancel, I was told that the systems are offline and I can't cancel. I should phone back later - now that's convenient, isn't it?!

I am so done with Vodacom. Cancelling that contract and definitely moving my existing contract to another provider. I will also be sure to share this horrible experience with everyone.

Finally, I can say something positive. After a very tiring and emotionally draining experience from Vodacom, I got some light at the end of my tunnel. I eventually had to send an email to high level management, and this helped.

Lindie and Shaun are the names of two very helpful people that phoned me back. I got a very nice apology from Vodacom for the horrible experience and I was offered a truly amazing deal as a token of their regret for losing me as a customer. I did choose not to take them up on the offer, but only because I have already entered into a new contract with another company and I cannot pay for two contracts.

To Lindie and Shaun, you have turned my frown upside down and I feel a lot better when I think about future dealings with Vodacom. It was good to be heard and I really thank you for all of your help.

I just truly hope that there won't be deducting a premium at the end of this month for the phone that I cancelled.

Vodacom is really not that bad when the right people assists you:)
