Vodacom Numbers Targeted by Hackers

Hello,

A family friend's phone number got hacked, and the hackers took control of her WhatsApp. I was a victim of the incident because I received a message from the hacker, thinking I was talking to a family friend. They asked for money, and I sent it, only to find out it wasn't her. The hackers were sending messages to everyone. When she realized this, it was too late.

What I learned in the process is that Vodacom is aware of this issue, and it has been happening for a while. What is Vodacom doing about this? I personally lost R800 to the hackers, thinking I was helping a friend. We're trying to build a caring community, so when someone asks for financial help, we jump in to help.

We could not retrieve the R800 back; the hackers had already withdrawn the money. The hackers continued to hack all the contacts from her phone, including my Vodacom numbers. I received an alert from Vodacom that a SIM swap request was made, and thankfully, I had my phone with me to call Vodacom immediately to stop it.

What is Vodacom doing about this? This is an URGENT MATTER!!!
