Vodacom not honouring their promises.

On the 23rd of November, I made a request for the a new contract through Vodacom for the iPhone 8 64gig with the free Series 3 Apple Watch. I received a confirmation email that said a consultant would contact me in the next 24 hours.

After waiting patiently for 24 hours, I called their call centre with the number provided in the email and completed the application. I was told that my order would arrive early the next week.

On Monday the 27th of November I received another phone call to confirm delivery and was told my order would arrive by Wednesday at the latest. On Wednesday, the 29th of December, I phoned Vodacom to query the status of my order and was told that my order had been placed on the back order as there was no stock. When I queried when stock would be arriving, the could not give me a straight answer but promised to phone back the next day with a response.

I waited patiently until Sunday, the 3rd of December, when I phoned again and explained that this was actually quite urgent now as I had already cancelled my previous contract in anticipation of the new one and that I would be leaving for Holiday on the 11th of December and needed the device by then. They promised to phone me back the next day as they would know when they would be receiving stock by them.

Come Monday, the 4th of December, I missed a call from Vodacom and the never tried again. I phoned later that afternoon to query everything and was met with the same answers and incompetence. One consultant was kind enough to inform that no order had been placed for new stock of the Apple Watch as yet. They lady I spoke with promised to phone me back the next day with a more concrete answer.

Come Tuesday, the 5th of December, no call was received from Vodacom. When I called later in the evening, I was met with the same unknowing answers and incompetence and told that they would know by the 7th of December when they would have stock again. When I asked to be put through to a manager, the consultant put me on hold and ended the call after 2 minutes. When I immediately phoned the call centre again, another consultant informed me that the managers there do not take calls.

Now, as you can understand, I am livid with the amount of *********** responses I have received from Vodacom on a simple thing of a new contract. I have been part of the Vodacom family for 12 years and this sort of service is disgusting. Their only policy and promise is 1 to 2 day delivery. I understand that they do not have stock but surely a plan must be made if they have outstanding orders that have not been met? I am disgusted by the amount of promised phone calls I have not received and the amount of simple questions that have gone unanswered.
