VODACOM NOT HONOURING CANCELLATION REQUEST
I am “AGAIN” having the same problem with Vodacom as I did when cancelling my other/previous number!?
At end-March 2025 (i.e. 60 days’ notice) a notice was sent to Vodacom of my intent to cancel line on contract expiry date which was 11 June 2025 to ensure I honour notice period (see attached proof)
I have sent a cancellation on 12 June 2025 which was simply ignored by Vodacom (see attached proof).
I then had to phone Vodacom again for the “3rd time”…..When I phoned Vodacom today to formalise cancellation and transfer contract to pay-as-you go to enable me to port to a carrier of my choice I was told I MUST give 30 days’ notice and then on top of that threatened that if I do not accept to the terms and condition my notice will not be activated?
Then I get mail below stating that my cancellation date will not take effect until 31 July 2025 (now not 30 days but over 45 days!!!!)
I understand fully that we are in mid-month and there are fees due by 30 June 2025 for which Vodacom has my debit authority already. What I do not agree with is why after giving a 60 days’ notice and requesting it another 2x times to get it honoured by Vodacom I must now wait another 45 days!! The debit due should not be reason to force me locked in. I have never defaulted with debits at Vodacom. Please honour my cancellation sent end-March and 12 June 2025 sent and let’s move on!?
Why is it such a hassle to get out of a contract with Vodacom if I have honoured my part yet they seem to force you locked in!!??
