Vodacom not cancelling a contract

I have a cellphone contract with Vodacom. My bill is normally between R200 and R300. This morning my debitorder went off and it was R2088! I was shocked. I phoned them immediately and apparently I have another contract on my name.

I had a tablet and received 2gig data every month and piad R109. That contract ended last year June 2016 and I cancelled the contract because I had no use for it anymore. I phoned Vodacom and cancelled it telephonically because that is the only way one can now cancel a contract. I was told thet the contract has been cancelled.

A few weeks later I sold the tablet and told the person that they are more than welcome to use the same number because it is on prepaid now. This morning I was informed that the contract has never been cancelled I have been paying that R109 every single month.

This is unacceptable! Now I have to find proof to show Vodacom that I phoned in to cancel the contract. I am now not able to pay any of my other bills seeing that this huge amount went of my account now!

I am not going to take this lying down. I want my money back and I will not be punsihed for someone who did not do their work 6 months ago. This is not the first time I am having trouble cancelling a contract. Vodacom after service is pathetic and I cannot wait for me contract to be finished so that I can change to a service provider that is reliable. They better have a good explanation!!!
