VODACOM NON EXISTING SERVICE
I have been reporting poor vodacom internet speeds for over a month now on a almost daily basis. There is no internet at all on the 3G network and when it connects to 4G the speeds are less than 1mb/s. Every time I speak to a operator in the call centre they promise me that someone will call me back, I have yet to receive any feedback or any communication in over a month now. Vodacom is very quick to Jump up and down if your payment is late, but as soon as they need to resolve a issue they are no where to be found. It is very Poor Customer service, we pay for a service and then vodacom does not deliver the service.

05 Feb 2025, 08:46Once again Vodacom has mad promises that they didn't keep. It has been a week now and nothing has happened. No one has Contacted me to come out and test the signal, I have yet to receive the email from Alex.
This email that Vodacom is referring to is that I am more than welcome to cancel my contract with Vodacom with no cost if I am not happy with the service. I formally request a transcript of the conversation I had with Alex regarding the lack of Stable signal. I have a recording of the Call and the view of Vodacom is this.
1. the infrastructure is overloaded and that is the reason my signal is unstable (too many people for the tower to handle)
2. I can wait for Vodacom to upgrade the tower (Vodacom has plans to upgrade and install new towers in the future) no timeframe was given.
3. If I am not happy with the Service, I should cancel my contract and get another service provider.
After informing Alex that I would be taking the recording to social media the story changed and was told they will send out a technician to do some on site test to see what the issue is and what they can do to resolve it. I have waited a week for anyone to call me to make an appointment but nothing.
I have been with Vodacom for over 20 years and this is the response they give to their customers. It is truly pathetic.
Vodacom is very quick to take your money, but as soon as there is a issue on there side they don't care or show any willingness to assist.
I'm not happy at all with the empty promises given by Vodacom.

17 Feb 2025, 13:20It has now been another 11 days and nothing has happened, the last Communication I received was that my query has been handed over to the Engineering team (10th Feb 2025) a week ago and no one has made contact since then.
The Signal issue seems to be getting worse every day. This is totally unacceptable that Vodacom keeps making statements or replies on here saying they are aware of the issue and are working on it but they don't actually do anything about it.
If there is anyone that can give me details on who i can contact directly because it seems that the team that have contacted me have no idea about being honest about what is happening. All they do is make it seem (to the World) that the issue is being worked on when in actual fact there is nothing being done.
I am 1.4km from the one tower and 2.6km from the other.

11 Mar 2025, 14:22Tomorrow it will be another month that nothing is being done by Vodacom to resolve the issue with the poor signal quality.
Yesterday our community group had a discussion about the exact issues I am experiencing. The group has over 200 people on it. they all say that Vodacom committed a few years ago to build a new tower on Kalkheuvel west because the existing tower was already over loaded and the hardware was already outdated. The whole community is fed up with the lack of service received from Vodacom, the empty commitments that are never honoured.
we have all received confirmation one various occasions from Vodacom that the tower is overloaded and that the hardware is outdated and that is the reason for the issues. Yet Vodacom refuses to correct the issue. Surely this is ********* business practice. Costumers pay for a service but the service provider refuses to maintain the infrastructure to provide the service we are paying for. According to the group this issue has been ongoing not for months but for years.
We all be addressing this issue at the next community meeting.

16 Apr 2025, 10:30And another month has passed without any change to the situation. it has actually gotten even worse. I now have over 200 people in the area complaining about the same issue after asking if anyone else has the same issue. We have correspondence from 2022 (3 years ago) where vodacom admitted they are aware of the issue and it is due to the tower been outdated. This is not past just poor service delivery, it is now in direct contravention of the on the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Vodacom used to provide a service to the area, after a while the service has just disappeared and it is 100% as a result of vodacom not maintaining the infrastructure. This issue has been brought to the attention of Vodacom over 3 years ago and nothing has been done.
