Vodacom - No one has a clue

I had a contract that was set to expire on 28th October 2016. I called Vodacom cancellations department on 27th Oct and spoke to Mpho, to inform them that I would like to cancel. He told me that cancellation was set to take place on the 31 Oct 2016 and from 1 Nov 2016, I will be migrated to prepaid. He also advised me to use up all my minutes and data before the 31st. At that time I had 121 minutes and 2gb data remaining. Later the night on the 27th I was unable to make a call and get the message that my cellular service has been suspended. I could not use any data as well. On the 28th I called Vodacom about 10 times to try to sort out this suspension. I spoke to customer care, contract cancellations, accounts, aquisitions, solutions department, legal department etc.. No one has a clue as to why my cellular service has been suspended and no one has any athourity to lift the suspension. I cannot make any calls, sms or use data. I cannot use my internet banking or receiving any important sms's. My contract has never been in arears and I have no active orders on my number. At this point I have no service for more than 48 hours. At this stage I do not care about my minutes or data, I just want my cellphone number back to port it from this terrible terrible network provider. I cannot understand why it is impossible to speak to someone that has any knowledge of what happended or the system being used.
