Vodacom Nightmare!!!!!

I have been receiving calls from Vodacom Accounts department for more thann a month, each time being asked by a person on the other end to confirm my details like DOB. I always decline vecause I have been a victim of ***** before, and sometimes they would get angry because apparently there is an urgent problem with my account. I found this to be incredibly strange because, all our household Vodacom accounts are in my wifes name and I have neve before app**** for, or had an account with Vodacom in my personal name. After a month of harrassing phone calls, sometimes 2 to 3 times a day, I eventually confirmed my DOB with a young lady on the other end, to find out what the problem is and why they are phoning me and harassing me all the time. She went on to explain, that there is an account or contract in my name which is not being paid for and that the residential address for this person which they have, is situated in Johannesburg. Immediately I informed her it had to be *****, or identity theft or whatever, since firstly, I live in the Eastern Cape, about 1200km from Johannesburg, and secondly I dont know anyone there, and thirdly I have never app**** for an account iin my personal capacity with Vodacom ever before, and this debit order is not going off from my personal account, so the ID and the bank statements used to take out this ****tract obviously could not have matched or been financially stable enough to award a cellphone contract on, if it was ****. She instructed me what to do. So I had to take a day off from work, went and got an affidavit at my local police station about the whole thing, got proof of address, proof of employment, bank account confirmation letter and certified copy of my ID and travelled to my closest Vodacom shop, which is about 45min drive from our town. This happened Thursday 9 November 2023. After handing it in and getting a ***** dispute ref number I am still receiving calls, twice a day from these accounts people, irritating and harrasing me to the point of me wanting to throw my phone against a wall. Ive explained it to tehm on more than one occasion... The calls keep coming. Ive tried to mail ***** department. I got back a generic answer that it will be resolved within 7 to 14 working days. I would like to know, how a multi billion rand company like Vodacom, has such terrible security checks and verifications in place, that this is allowed to happen? Is it really that difficult to check the signature on a form against my own, and realise what is going on? No, youd rather harrass me to death! Who is going to compensate me for day I had to take off from work to get all the documentation to the nearest Vodacom Shop? Who is going to pay for the fuel I had to burn to sort out this mess, which is entirely not of my own making? Its been one of the most tedious and distastefull experiences with a company that I have had in my entire life and the harrassment has been non-stop, qnd you can explain and talk untill you are blue in the face and ready to fall over, these people dont listen, or care, they just grind you to a pulp untill your head wants to burst! I hate Vodacom now.
