Vodacom nightmare.
So this is a follow up to my complaint regarding my iPhone 8 cellphone contract. My biggest regret ever - so after being contacted by a Vodacom representative, being talked over and having terms and conditions shoved down my throat I’d like to really go into detail about the full Vodahell experience in detail. So I purchased a brand new iPhone 8 Plus on a 2 year contract. After 6 months while being on charge the phone just went dead so I took it in to a vodashop and they explained the process of sending it away and when removing the screen guard noticed a hairline scratch on the edge of the screen which apparently the gentleman said might void the warranty. So the phone was sent away and after a few days we received a message saying that there is a fault with the phone and due to the damage we have to pay in R8000 for a new headset... I needed more information so I called the repairs number provided and got through to a very rude woman who refused to tell me what the actual problems was with the headset. So I refused to pay R8000 and had the phone returned to me. I then took the phone to Ifix who confirmed that it was the motherboard of the phone that went dead and it was definitely a manufacturing fault - nothing to do with the hairline scratch.. so how is it that I ended up paying 18 months for a dead phone with a manufacturing fault?? Now to add insult to injury I called in several times inquiring about the cancellation of my contract and was informed that it was ending beginning of April and I needed to call in advance to have it cancelled. So that’s what I did but prior to that I had issues with Vodacom double debiting my bank account which they rectified but would eventually cause issues which I’ll tell about now- I called to cancel my contract which at that point was paid up to date and I questioned the female Vodacom representative about the status of my account and last payments and everything making sure that everything was in order and she confirmed that all was good - so me as the customer was informed by Vodacom that all was good and that the contract would be cancelled... but it wasn’t , the cancellation didn’t go through cause apparently even though the contract ended beginning April I still had to pay for another month in may ? Which I wasn’t informed about when I called. So since then Iv been sent unwanted airtime and have had money debited off my bank account even though the account should have been cancelled in April. Iv called several times and spoke to so many different advisors who obviously don’t know what they doing and told me so many different stories promising to get it sorted out and have the account cancelled. It took a review on hellopeter to have someone finally call me back - except the person who called me back wouldn’t understand from a customers perspective , he obviously didn’t do any check ups or call listening. I was told that the cancellation didn’t go through because the account was in arrears ? Because of a double debit by Vodacom... also that even though my contract ended beginning April that I still needed to pay in may - he wouldn’t listen to me as a customer or listen to reason from a customers perspective ... Just wanting to shove terms and conditions down my throat .. based on the facts that I wasn’t correctly informed by Vodacom representatives .. on recorded conversations I was given incorrect information by Vodacom...It’s clear that the advisors have Important knowledge gaps. they cut my line beginning of July yet they still send me a invoice for July ???! If they had any decency and suggested maybe I pay for the month of April I’d do it just to get rid of them but nowI’m in arrears of over R780.00 and possibly more which I refuse to pay. I will be going to the ombudsman because regardless of T&C’s I have my rights as a customer which Vodacom think they can just **** on, they refuse to take responsibility for the staff they employ. The poorest of customer service and the worst cellphone company .... Please just stay away from Vodacom .. it’s not worth the stress.
