Vodacom new contract nightmare
On 12/01/16 I signed for a new Vodacom contract with a new Samsung smart phone, completing the application with all my details including bank. Porting from my number with another service took 7 days. The only document given me by the branch manager was a \dealer copy\" with my signature, mostly illegible and without any name or numbers except a contract no. I had signed the extra amount for caller id.
A couple of weeks later I had accumulated a list of problems and questions, including no caller id, so phoned the Vodacom customer care no. When asked for my cell phone no., id, and bank through which I was paying, I provided these. The vodacom person and the supervisor said she could not verify my identity from what I had told her.
So I am stuck with questions that Vodacom won't answer about the phone contract I am paying for.
On local enquiry at the branch, the manager told my daughter that the phone was made out in my daughter's name (she was with me when I opened the contract) and the account was be debited to her - a different bank from mine. He further told her that I must wait until the Vodacom system changes in March to have my details corrected. Very bad service. "
