Vodacom "new contract" and unauthorized debit order
Vodacom is at it again. First they did a sim swop on my number and now they have been helping themselves deducting money from my account. I called them to find out why as I don't have any account with them anymore and I was told that I opened a new contract with them in November 2023. How can someone open a new contract without any proper verification. This "person" doesn't have my banking details, and just because I had an existing contract then, Vodacom just used my personal details and linked them to my account. This surely is *****, I never authorized the debit order. Banks are also complicit; they never ask questions and just load the debit orders. Vodacom is nothing but a bully, they have dismissed a lot of similar cases (I was told this happens all the time) and always get away with ******. Sim swop "investigation" concluded that there was no wrongdoing from their side, ***!! Anyway, I cancelled my contract after being with them for more 20 years. So check your bank account statement as Vodacom could be deducting money from your account without your knowledge. Vodacom has shown time and time again that they can't be trusted in keeping our private information safe.
