Vodacom? Never again.

I cancelled an LTE data contract with Vodacom in January 2023 (within the 7 day grace period) on account of my current internet provider having better speeds at better rates. The router and sim card were collected again 2/3 days after delivery. Vodacom however continued to deduct the money from my account until August when I finally got them to properly cancel the contract and admit fault. I have been struggling to get the accumilated deductions back since then. I have emailed them repeatedly, wasted litterally hours on the phone speaking to support agents that didn't assist me, they refuse to give me a way to speak to the same agent every time (direct line / e-mail / Fax / Smoke Signals / Mail ***eons / cave paintings, ect.) and I have been assured that someone would contact me with feedback more times than I can count, to this day nobody has contacted me save for one person who was exited to inform me that the matter was resolved and the money is back in my bank account. Spoiler, it wasn't. It still isn't.

Last I heard the amount would be paid back within 7 days (I heard this more than once as well). 7 days was last week Wednesday, it's now another 7 days later and still nothing. This is not the first time that Vadacom has treated me (and others I know of) this way. I could go on for days... Like when I tried to take out a tablet contract, Vodacom's system rejected my application because I have too many active lines... Their system however only shows 1 line on my account, which is correct according to me. Anyone want to guess how long that struggle lasted? Ding ding! Several Months. (Does anyone else see a pattern forming here?) I eventually decided to ask MTN what they have on offer. Same device, more data, lower cost. But the best part is: What Vodacom failed to achieve in months, MTN managed to execute in 20 minutes. Start to finish.

Ps. The reference number below is only the latest of many. Pss. Why does mobile data have an expiry date? It's data, not dairy!
