Vodacom network provider EXTREMELY bad in Port St Johns
Vodacom service levels in rural areas is nothing short of shocking and unacceptable!!!!! . We live in a rural tourism town in Port St Johns, Eastern Cape and have, for years, repeatedly complained about Vodacom, service, repeated tower issues, bad network, batteries not lasting for 5 minutes when ESKOM goes off etc.. It is seriously affecting tourism related business that rely on Vodacom network, of which there are many.
Most people are now opting to switch to MTN or CellC to avoid the network and tower issues. The Overport towe, in particular, r is repeatedly giving problems due to no back-up batteries being available. We cannot express what a disaster this is when there are any emergencies, of which there have been plenty, when the tower goes down, we cannot get any assistance from anyone. We cannot call for help, we are stuck without any form of communication. There was an instance where a tourism place was on fire and Vodacom network was off. This is totally unacceptable. What are we paying for????
We rely heavily on network in the town of Port St Johns and many of the lodges are on the outskirts of town. Batteries not being able to last 5 minutes when ESKOM goes down is unacceptable.
This matter has been reported so many times and nothing changes. It is time for all residents of Port St Johns to sign up for other network providers.
