Vodacom Nelson Mandela Square breach of CPA

I qualified for an early upgrade on October 2016, so I went in to the Vodacom in Nelson Mandela Square to do the upgrade. Not only did this process take me over 2 hours, I have come to realise, 2 months later, that the consultants there were NOT HONEST WITH ME! I was told I would be paying an amount of R908.50 per month going forward. Now, an amount of R1377.50 is being debited from my account. According to accounts, this is because I upgraded 2 months early, and I am still paying off my previous handset. Fair enough, except THIS WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED WITH ME! I signed the upgraded contract which, in black and white, says 0 MONTHS OWING, R0.00 OWING!

If I had been informed that I would be paying R1377.50 for two months, I would have waited the two months before upgrading, but this choice was never given to me or communicated to me! This IS A BREACH OF THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT!

I just had a consultant phone me and say that I need to take it up with the store, because this is how it's done and they should have communicated this with me.

I am sick of hearing that I "need to finish paying for my previous contract" - the fact of the matter is - THIS WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED WITH ME, and I have it in black and white in the new contract, the amount that I will be paying every month. NO WHERE do I see the amount of R1377.50.

I DEMAND that someone contacts me and this amount is refunded to me, because I would never have done this early upgrade if I had known! Vodacom sent me smses telling me I'm eligible for my early upgrade, yet no one told me I'd still have to finish paying for the previous handset, and I cannot find reference to this in my contract!

If I do not hear back within the next 24 hours, I will be seeking legal advice.

Disgusted. A consultant called me asking me to send through my contract, and that she would try to get me a discounted rate to make up for the extra amount I've been paying. This was almost a week ago and I have not heard back.

DISGUSTING VODACOM!!!!
