Vodacom Negligence towards clients
I recieved a phone call from an attorney's office stating I have been handed over for payment on an account that Vodacom has not once come back to me on when I have requested updated statements.
I advised I sent 3 emails to subscribercollections@vodscom email address wanting an updated statement first email sent 27/05/2024 second 04/06/2034 third 09/09/2024 and I never recieved feedback or a phone call.
I called 082 135 customer care line who managed to put me through to the collections center and a very rude consultant asked me why I had not called in before, and I asked her how does she know that I haven't. I called *** which is the accounts number but everytime I call and I put in my number *** (number in arrears) I get told by Tobi vodacoms voice bot that my account is not in arrears?
The consultant than said Vodacom has sent SMS's so I asked to which number and the consultant said the number in arrears to which I laughed because that number hasn't been in service for over a year now so how was I meant to get an SMS on a number that is no longer in service? How does that make any logical sense?
Now I'm expected to pay the legal fees incurred due to vodacomes negligence towards their clients.
It is not the clients responsibility to chase Vodacom for payments and statements.
I suggest someone at Vodacom contact me back and explain to me why I'm now expected to pay legal costs for an account that Vodacom negligently left unattended for months until the point they handed the account over without even trying to contact the client before hand.
Was I just expected to keep paying Vodacom never knowing when the account was paid up or not? That is why I kept requesting an updated statement to which my requests went unanswered. I eventually took it as confirmation the account is then paid off since Vodacom couldnt seem to be bothered.
But funny enough your appointed attorney managed to contact me no problem but Vodacom couldnt why is that?
Not even logging on to the Vodacom app proved successful as clearly the number in question is no longer in service and my Vodacom app is linked to my current number not on the same account
