#Vodacom must fall

I recently signed up a contract with Vodacom for a news cell phone and have just been experiencing issue after issue with both the phone as well as the provider.

Firstly they tell me that they aren’t able to port my number. I then spoke to their Management, and ‘magically’ it was then possible for them to port the number only now they say that if I do I won’t be able to receive any of the benefits of the contract. Now tell me what is the point of offering a port service if I cannot use the benefits of the provided network?

The next issue I had was a debit order for R400. I paid the outlet in Hatfield a visit and enquired about this debit and they said they could not figure out what it is for. I then called Vodacom’s accounts Department and was told that it is a ‘connection fee’. Since when do cell phone companies charge you to be able to use your phone? Also, why did the agents at the shop not know or inform me about this?

This morning I receive an sms about an outstanding Nedbank loan amount that I need to urgently pay. When I call Nedbank they find that the cell phone number I’m using is registered under someone else and that this person has been using this number for a while. This can only mean that Vodacom issued me with a number that is already being used.

I have never experienced any issues with any other cell phone provider before and I am regretting more and more every day with every arising problem for choosing Vodacom as a provider. You are a pretty useless service.
