Vodacom Multichoice/Showmax ****

Vodacom *****ulently added Multichoice charges of R89.99 to one of my numbers with them for several months now. I only noticed this a few days ago and promptly called Vodacom to address the issue. The representative informed me that the charges were for Showmax, and only they could cancel it.

This is a blatant violation of the POPI Act, as I have never had any MultiChoice account or product in my life. Following this, I contacted Multichoice, and they confirmed that there is no Showmax account under my Name, ID, Email address, nor the number in question. However, they insisted that Vodacom must cancel and refund the payment deductions. I was also referred to their terms and conditions, stating that only the collector of the premiums can cancel the payment from their side.

As of now, I am still awaiting feedback from Vodacom, and I am seriously considering pursuing legal action as this *****s on contract numbers are starting to become a norm.

Reviewer Update
Hi There,
1st - I have never spoken to  any Charles Geland from Vodacom, I was always assisted by a lady.
2nd - How do one register for showmax ba mistake?, you need an email address, fill in your name and after confirm the account or subscription via mail.
3rd - Multichoice doesn't even have a record of the the member in question, my name, email address not even my ID.

So please your story right and cancel this subscription before writing nonsense on this review platform.

And I would like to have the number of this  Charles Geland that clamed to have spoken to me!!!!!!!!
