After I lost my cellphone in June, I took out a new contract which was an upgrade on my previous contract. According to the salesperson at Atterbury Value Mart Vodacom, I was 'lucky' as this contract included a limited amount of free data (I think it was 2 gig). I was overseas in June and when I returned, my phone didn't want to use mobile data and every time I phone to enquire about it, they said my contract does NOT include data. I asked them what happened to the free data which was supposed to be loaded onto the account each month, they explained that "maybe they forgot to do it", and they can only do it on the 1st of each month. so they can't load it onto my account in the middle of the month. So I bought data, and my data worked. I am on wifi most of the time but EVERY TIME I WANT TO USE MOBILE DATA, I can't connect at all. It's as if they keep on hiding behind the fact that they can no longer charge 'out of bill tariffs' which I understand BUT, what happened to my FREE DATA every month? Do they forget EVERY MONTH to load it? Should I just be happy after 3 months that people FORGET to load my free data, so I don't have data unless I BUY data? They are playing around with words and falling around if I phone them. I hold on for HOURS on end just to receive an unsatisfactory answer. Can I have clarity on this now please. Do I or DON'T I get free data? What happened to the date which had not been loaded? Do I just lose that? Really people, is this so difficult? I never received a copy of the contract, so its as if they are playing with words about the FREE DATA I am about to receive each month.
