Vodacom messed up my credit record
Hi,
I got a Vodacom top-up contract on the 4th of July 2018 at East Rand Mall Vodacom. When i spoke to the consultant there, I explained that I still had data on my Cell C sim card and wanted to finish it first and then port as I knew I would lose all the data should I port immediately. He said that was fine and I could just come back when i had finished the data. Long story story short, when I went back to the Vodacom shop the next day, i was told that was not possible (I should have done the porting before finalising the contract) and I would have to cancel the contract and pay the difference. I escalated it to the manager who managed to assist me with the issue.
I then got the number ported and somehow there was a problem with capturing at the Head Office. After the new contract was finalised with my old number, I was soft-locked. This means I could not make calls or use my data at all. I could only receive calls and use my apps when I'm connected to the wifi. I escalated the issue with someone named Tshepo (he's been super helpful I must admit). When he dug deeper into the issue, he found out that Vodacom was claiming that I owe R13 700 in an unpaid account and for it to be unlocked, i would have to pay that amount. Tshepo reassured me that the money was not going to be taken out of my account and upon further investigation, it would take 7-14 days for this to be resolved.
On the 25th of July, Vodacom took R13 700 out of my account which led to me defaulting on my vehicle loan payment and giving me a bad credit record.
It's been more than 14 days now and i'm still locked out of my account.
I'm so disappointed in the service and treatment I have received from Vodacom.
