Vodacom Mall@Reds - What a disappointment Now I am stuck with unexplained Arrears

In December 2024, I went to Vodacom Mall@Reds to upgrade the number (I***-2) quotation number : ***. The contract was effective 28/02/2025, that is, the consultant had informed me that the new amount (R1628.98) will only be deducted on the 28-Feb-2025. This meant January my account would be deducted R619.98 as was current.

To my surprise, on the 31st January, Vodacom debited my account with R1478.99 (instead of R619.98), this was never explained to me by the consultant, neither did Vodacom Accounts send me an invoice alerting me of this amount. The debit order failed due to insufficient funds. I trid to inquire this amount with Vodacom Mall@Reds, they seemed uninterested in resolving it. The consultant (Warren) who had assisted me in upgrading promised me that he would inform his Client/Acc Specialist to waiver the amount or the store will pay R1000 towards the account for February. This turns out to have been a BIG FAT LIE, as February my account was debited R3058.86 (1478.99 + 1628.98). I again complained to the consultant at the store and he gave me a lousy excuse to why the store did not pay the promised amount.

Can the following be explained: i. Why am I being debited an amount that was not initiallysigned or agreed on in January? ii. Vodacom Mall@Reds should be the one paying this unexplained amount. If I cannot be assisted in this regards, I would like to return the handset, cancel the contract and make the number prepaid.
