Vodacom makes everything worse!

So vodacom decides that load shedding it's bad enough as it is. They feel that besides not having electricity we should at the same time not have access to the internet which we are paying a fine penny for I might add. Vodacom's excuse is that their towers run off of electricity and that if the power fails as it does the signal those towers produce will also fail. They say that these towers have back up batteries but that these will also eventually fail and that is why we have no power and no internet access at the same time. Now this begs one very important question as I understand that batteries do eventually give in but when they do, you REPLACE THEM! You REPLACE THEM VODACOM! You make billions per year but you can't replace these batteries? Instead you feed us this line and expect us to believe your bs then try to pass the buck to Eskom? Do you really want to drag your name through the mud along with Eskom? I will take this complaint as high as I need to I have nothing but time on my hands as i have no electricity or internet access.

This is how vodacom treats their loyal customers I've been with them for almost 2 decades and still no one has called me regarding my complaint and issue that is still continuing even though load shedding has pretty much stopped.

Dear Customer

Vodacom is aware that many customers around the country will be experiencing issues connecting to the network because of the Loadshedding that took place. Our towers do use batteries as a back up but these do have limited power and will eventually fail. We have put proactive measures in place to help mitigate the effects of widespread loadshedding. For instance, we have deployed generators at numerous sites across the country and are working as hard as possible to keep customers connected. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience - normal service will resume once loadshedding runs its course.

This response has been copied and pasted to my complaint, you vodacom are trying to pass the buck of your poor planning onto eskoms load shedding and I'm not having it. I pay you for my data and the fact is that you cant provide me with the service I am paying for. As we speak not a single person has contacted me regarding my problem, but I keep paying. I'll be going to the ombudsman with my complaint very shortly. This lack of service from vodacom is disgusting.
