Vodacom loyal customers unable to upgrade to new deal - FEEL CHEATED!

My Vodacom contract is up for renewal. The iStore had a sale for the iPhone 6s (128gb) on the Smart top up M+ for R499pm. However this deal was for "new contracts only" and those upgrading had to pay R 799pm (instead of R499pm) for the exact same contract. That is ridiculous. The iStore Vodacom sales advsior advised that that it was a restriction from Vodacom. The Vodacom helpline advised that it was a restriction from the iStore. However, if one looks at this, only Vodocam stands to benefit from this restriction (as irrespective of upgrading/new contract, the Istore is still moving their stock). I then went to the vodacom store to convert my number to prepaid. In that way, I could take this contract at the Istore as a "new contract". To my disbelief, the Vodocom sales advisor advised that the conversion takes +-2 weeks. By that time the above offer/special would have ended. What frustrates me is that I have been a loyal vodocom cutomer for +-10 years spending R1500-R2000pm. Since Vodacom has already signed us up, there is no need to take care of loyal customers by offering such deals to "new contacts" only. Their model is to attract new customers and make more money - who cares about those already with them? Needless to say, as a matter of principle, I, along with my wife, parents and siblings will be migrating from Vodacom to MTN. Ridiculous!!!
