Vodacom Listed me as a late payer with Credit Bureaus for the contract I already cancelled

I called Vodacom on the 22nd of June to request a premature cancellation of my contract ***. I made a payment of R1707.50 (immediate clearance/payment) as it was stated on the quotation. I sent the signed acceptance of the quotation, proof of payment, and copy of ID on the 26th of June. I was now only left with the Fibre account with a fee of R699 due every month. On the 9th of July, I received my monthly statement for *** and it had a balance due of R775. I called Vodacom to enquire about this. The consultant I got on the phone told me that they are going to escalate it to the Cancellation Department to correct this and they will give me feedback. I gave them my number *** so that they can call me for feedback, but till this day they never called me or send me feedback via email. On the 8th of August, I received again the invoice for *** with an amount due for R985. How is this possible Vodacom? To make things worse for me now, Vodacom has listed me as 30 days late with Credit Bureaus for an outstanding payment of R50 as I paid the R699 that I was supposed to pay at the end of July for the fiber and still waiting for the feedback for the charges that I am continuously receiving for the *** number. I have been a loyal customer at Vodacom and I always pay my bills on time. I really did not expect to be listed as a late payer by Vodacom with Credit Bureaus for something which is their fault. I paid the contract cancellation fees. Why I am still being charged for something that I have canceled? Why am I being listed with credit bureaus as a late payer for something that I have cancelled? Please correct this Vodacom otherwise I am going to take legal action. Please clear the late payment that is listed with Credit Bureaus and explain to me why I am still receiving invoices for the contract that I cancelled and of June.

I spoke with my lawyer as the 30 days late payment that was submitted by Vodacom on my credit report will minimise the chances of getting new employment and getting better interest rates for the houses that I am about to buy.

If I look at my statements from May, here is the breakdown:

May 2024: I received the statement and invoice on the 8th of May with an outstanding amount of R1473.97. Paid R1474 on the 31st of May.

June 2024: I received the statement and invoice on the 9th of June with an outstanding amount of R1473.97. I paid the early termination fee of R1707.50 on the 26th of June. And paid R699 for the remaining fiber line on the 26th of June.

July 2024: I received the statement and invoice on the 9th of July with an outstanding amount of R513.97. Paid R699 on the 26th of July. I decided to pay the full amount for the fiber line as there were charges for the contract that I already terminated which didn’t make sense. I called Vodacom and they never gave me feedback.

August 2024: I received the statement and invoice on the 8th of August 2024 with an outstanding amount of R748.97. This is due to be paid on the end of August. This is supposed to be R699. Where is the R49.97 coming from.

Then all of the sudden my credit bureau is listed with a 30 days late payment of R50. Where is this coming from as I always pay all the amounts due on time. In July I paid even more than it was required. Is this R50 not from the August statement which is due to be paid month end.

Please clarify this so that I can know what way forward to take with my lawyer?

I am taking legal action against Vodacom. I paid everything that was due on time. Vodacom is saying that they won’t take the 30 day late payment that they listed on my credit record.
