VODACOM LIES TO THEIR CUSTOMERS

I visited the Vodacom store in Liberty Promenade just yesterday to simply set up a new line (Sim card with data plan only) There were three consultants in the store and one manager. Whilst all three consultants were busy, I was told to have a seat. An elderly woman by the name of Dorothy came into the store and asked a consultant by the name of Thando if he could assist her with setting up the Vodacom App on her device. Whilst Thando was wrapping up with another customer, he simply rep**** to Dorothy: "You need to come back tomorrow when the technical team is in" Another consultant by the name of Martin confirmed this and tells Dorothy the same thing. I became very concerned about this elderly woman since she told them: “It’s not a technical issue with my phone, I just want to use the Vodacom App please" The consultants blatantly ignored the elderly woman. I then decided to get up from my seat and clarify what she needs help with. When she showed me her device, she was already on the app registration process but did not know how to proceed from there. I assisted her and asked the consultants why they've told her to come back tomorrow when she simply needed help with the app? They completely ignored me and made some remarks in Xhosa to each other which I did not understand. I managed to help Dorothy and got the registration done for her in less than 5 minutes. At this time the security has already closed the doors of the store. Thando finishes up with his customer as I approach his desk for my new line (Sim card with data plan only). Thando has the audacity to tell me that he is not able to assist me now as it is already 17:50 and the store closes at 18:00. Also, told me that getting a new line takes one hour. This consultant failed to probe correctly and had absolutely no courtesy in the manner he spoke to me and neither was he in any way apologetic. This type of behavior was unexpected and made me extremely irritated. I then requested to speak to his manager. The Manager (Ousie) came out to the front from the back office and listened to my complaint and ended up blaming the security at the front door entrance, telling me that, had the security tell the consultants that I am there to simply activate a new line on an existing account then things would have gone much smoother. And since it's already 18:01 she is unable to assist me. She made absolutely no attempt to go the extra mile given the terrible experience and simply suggested I revisit the store the following day. I left the store extremely annoyed and disappointed with the low level of service received. This has been the most appalling service I have ever received from any company. The store consultants have absolutely no respect for us customers and our time. They claim to know what customer service is but treat customers in an arrogant manner and lie to us customers just to get their doors closed so that they can leave the store. I currently have 6 lines with Vodacom and just did an upgrade over the phone yesterday. I will cancel each and every line by moving to another service provider who truly cares and lives up to their values should Vodacom fail to deal with this disgusting service offered at the Liberty Promenade Store.
