Vodacom- lies and terrible customer service.
I, Ronald Forbes, ID number ***, upgraded to a Samsung 8-inch tablet on ***, via a phone call on the 12th of April 2020. I called again on the 26th of April to inquire why the tablet had not been delivered and was told that they did not have stock. I asked that they cancel the order and was subsequently told about the Huawei tablet in stock. I asked specifically about the size of the internal onboard memory and was told that it was 32 gigs. I emphatically stated that I didn't want a tablet with only 16 gigs onboard memory and was assured that it was indeed a 32-gig onboard memory. On the 8th of May two tablets were sent, but I only accepted one and sent the second one back with the driver. Upon opening the tablet, I found that it was a tablet with only 16 gig onboard memory. On the 12th of May I called Vodacom and told them to come and collect the tablet, as it was not what I was promised. It was never collected so I called again on the 23rd of May and was promised that someone would collect it within 5 days. Again, I waited but nobody came, and no-one called to tell me they were coming either. So, I called again on the 27th May, and again was told that they would send someone to collect again which never happened. On the 1st of June I called again and was promised that they would collect the tablet, with no luck. When it had not been collected, I called again on the 5th of June, and was told that it was scheduled to be collected on that very day. I waited at home, but no-one came to collect it. Then I called again on the 11th of June at 07H30 and spoke to Mpho. She said she would investigate the matter and call me back at 14H00 that afternoon. She never did call back on either of the two numbers I gave her, so at 16H15 that same afternoon I called again and spoke to Bernice. She told me that the driver said he could not get hold of me to collect the tablet. This was a lie, as I had been waiting for the call for them to come and collect the tablet. And in any case, they knew exactly where I lived, because they came to my door without having to call when they delivered the tablet. She promised that a supervisor or someone higher ranked would call me the next morning, Friday the 12th of June. This call never came. The tablet has not been used, as I was waiting for Vodacom to come and collect. I have therefore been billed for something that I did not use and that I did not want. The tablet I requested would have 32 Gigs of onboard memory. I would like to have the amount refunded that I was billed for, and I need Vodacom to send someone to collect the tablet ASAP.
