VODACOM LEGAL DEPARTMENT THROWS THE BUCK ONTO DEBIT COMPANIES
Hello
I still have unresolved issues with vodacom. I had to do this breakdown so that people can see at the rate of their services. They cannot explain their system of calculations.
A laptop was taken on a 24 month contract with vodacom and the subscription fee per month was R469.22
Vodacom,! Kindly explain the following
The contract has been in operation from 03/03/2016 - 03/03/2018. This is a 24 month contract. If calculation is done:
24 months x R469 (subscription fee per month) = R11,256 is the contract value inclusive of equipment taken irrespective of whether it was given for free or not.
If you have a look at the invoice sent by you, I have paid the amount of R469.00 for 13 months which is = R6097.00. I have further paid R500. Total paid to Vodacom was R6597
The total of the outstanding 11 months is = R5159 which I had not paid due to overcharging of data usage and no assistance was provided to resolve issues.
If you add these two amounts, it will = R11,256 as I have indicated above.
If you do your calculations = R11,256 it the total cost of the contract with equipment inclusive. R6597 had already been paid on this contract. If these two amounts are subtracted, the balance should be R4659 is what is owed legally to Vodacom. These figures does not include the extra data usage that Vodacom insisted that I have used.
Vodacom has been claiming for R16897.06. I was then credited for R4369.62 on my data that Vodacom has charged me for but was unable to prove usage on request.
Calculations again. R16897.06 - R4369.62 (data credited) - R500 (that I had paid) = R12527.44
Now your claim is R12027.44 which is madness. Where is my R 6097 that I have paid for the 13 months into my contract? Why am I paying separately for an equipment that is added in the contract. My contract has been cancelled by Vodacom in September 2017. Instead of rectifying the problem, Vodacom has cut off my services on their own accord. I have called numerous times but your *********** consultants could not assist. The only answer was that the data department had to sort out. That was my reason for non payment.
Your consultants are unable to answer these questions. Maybe the public can now give their views on this case. I have been fighting for months now, for the correct figure and that the data issue be sorted out, but although they have sorted out the data issue, they still insist that I owe them that amount stipulated. I have now made a decision that this matter not be resolved fairly, I will be putting up adverti*****ts to gather all unhappy vodacom clients and then approach the Consumer Act for assistance. I had enough of this issue. Rectify and send thru because I will refer to my legal team and vodacom will be liable for all parties legal cost and I will do as I said above. You people are making customers lives miserable with your miserable services.
PS: I will not be referred to the Debit company to resolve this issue. You are their client. If you cannot resolve, how do you expect a third party to resolve?
Thank You
