Vodacom Lack of Client Loyalty
I have been a Vodacom client since 1995 and have always been happy, until now. On 12.11.2021 I signed an updated contract with Vodacom for an 300gig LTE account and was extremely happy as the service reached download levels enabling me to stream effectively. I renewed the contract again on 19.6.23 but had to accept a 200gig package. The Vodacom shop suggested I use a 10mbps line as that was working well for their other clients who were streaming. If it was not satisfactory, they "would make a plan". The download levels never reached the levels of my previous contract and at times I could not even stream YouTube. I spoke to the Vodacom shop who said that nothing could be done until the new contract was 3 months old. After four months the shop tried many options with Vodacom to get me back to acceptable levels. The shop was happy they could achieve this, but were struggling with Vodacom head office. Eventually a lady from Vodacom head office phoned to say the change had been approved, but she needed to talk to me just to confirm that it had been my request for the change, so that they could give final authorization. I gave her that confirmation and she said it would now go ahead. Many discussions have since taken place between the shop and Vodacom head office. It is now 10 months since I signed the contract and I still sit with unacceptable levels of speed. All I want is to go back to the levels I previously had. The fact that I have virtually been a model client with Vodacom for 29 years, does not seem to carry any weight. It is really frustrating and sad that loyal clients are ignored.
