Vodacom: Just Pay and Shutup

We took out a data contract with mobile router in January 2020. From the start the signal strength was poor. We gave it a couple of months, but in July 2020 registered a complaint and asked that technicians come to test the signal strength. Nobody came out, but we did receive the following reply via SMS: "Kindly note we are looking at improving coverage for your area in the near future... We however cannot confirm any time frames for completion of these projects due to 3rd party involvement in the planning process.." etc. Nothing happened, however, and we repeated the complaint a few months later, again receiving exactly the same answer. Due to the continued inability of Vodacom to resolve the problem despite us paying for a service of which we did not get the full value, we opted to get fiber (which was getting rolled out in our area during February-March 2021), staying with Vodacom as the fiber Internet Service Provider. The agent for Vodacom that "recruited" us for the Vodacom fiber contract even promised we can get our existing mobile data contract cancelled once fiber goes live without having to pay a penalty - this was actually the final factor that convinced us. Our fiber line was eventually activated at the end of April, so on 1 May we requested cancellation of the mobile data contract without penalty, providing the background as above as motivation. However, more than a month later, nothing happened; we just received another bill to which the fiber contract was added.

I doubt that this escalation will have much or quick results; from my experience I suspect such escalation is just a further delay (or delaying tactic even). For example: on this very same matter, a Ms Margo Varnicker (according to a Vodacom SMS that I received on 24 May) called me on 26 May; after clarifying the issue for her, she indicated that the technicians must first come and do certain tests. Apart from the fact that technicians had never come out to do tests in response to our complaints about the poor signal - but now that we request cancellation of the contract, NOW they must come out - it is now already two weeks after Ms Varnicker's call and still nobody came out.
From the start of this cancellation matter I requested a Vodacom agent to assist me with this matter, but even he tells me that his emails and calls to relevant parties/departments go unanswered.

Once again a totally useless and irrelevant response.
On 7 June you wrote, " Please note that we escalated your query to our networks team for further assistance. Kindly allow our team to investigate and provide feedback." Now, 2 weeks later with no-one from Vodacom that contacted me during this time, you again say, " Please note that we escalated your query to our networks team for further assistance. Based on the feedback provided, our team escalated your query to our radio planning team for investigation. Our network team will be in contact in order to provide further updates."
And so we're going round in circles - back to the radio planning team who only repeats the same line as almost a year ago, "...we are looking into additional towers for your area. We cannot provide a timeframe..." etc, etc.
So my assessment as posted on 8 June is totally correct: just a delaying tactic and NO progress whatsoever.
I wish I never signed up with Vodacom. We're SO FED UP!!
