Vodacom just busted my trust in their service

The system would not accept the new password received.

It is now Friday 9 September 18:03 and I still have zero e-mail access.

We (my husband has been missioning on on my behalf) have spoken to a substantial number of call centre people - and only two responded usefully, though their actions have not resolved the problem.

It turns out that Vodacom has changed their system, which is why the password did not work. Nobody thought to inform us that Vodacom is changing stuff on their web.

Late Thursday morning we learnt froma call centre person that Vodacom accidentally deleted my e-mail, which she then re-instated.

This is the gist of the sms I then received:
Your free Vodacom E-mail service has been upgraded to the Vodacom Free Premium Email service.
Also: Your VEH1 - Free 3GB Mailbox Hybrid has been activated.

It certainly is not accessable to me and none of the combined actions of myself, my husband, a selection of call centre people, 5 technicians and one Vodacom shop technician has made it accesible thus far - after 6 days!

We have made between 3 to 10 calls to the Vodacom call centre per day since Sunday.

We have received multiple assurances of having our query responded to by a technician. None of which have yet materialised.

I Have just received a call asking if I am satisfied with their response to my request.
Upon stating categorically that I am not, I was informed that someone would get in touch with me in the next 24 hours. LOL - It is not even April Fools Day!

I have no e-mail after 6 days of intense activity on our part to get Vodacom to sort this out.

On Tuesday at 4.15 I stood in the Knysna Vodacom Shop with my computer, having waited in vain for the call from the technician, , promised on Monday, and asked the technician in the shop to help me.

He repeated my actions of calling the Vodacom call centre. We then again had to wait 30 minutes for the password to be reset. Meanwhile he was on Whattsapp to his friends - I was standing next to him, waiting, so could see that.

The password problem remained unresolved and he sent an e-mail to his supervisor. After about 14 minutes, during which time he was back on his Whattsapp, and other customers began queueing for his attention, I asked him how long before he'd get a reply.

His response must be up there with one of the top mind boggling responses I've ever received. He said that the supervisor would respond the next day because they stopped working at 4 pm!

His message was sent close to 5 pm and he just carried on with his Whattsapp communications, with us standing there under the fond impression that he would be resolving our problem.

This e-mail is my primary mail and linked to my banking as well as my business. Both my husband and I are now beyond stressed and do not know how to proceed to get this resolved.

The final straw was a late afternoon call today from someone at Vodacom telling me that their web designer or a technician would be contacting me in the next 48 hours. I asked for the CEO's number and he gave me the head office number.

Upon phoning the head office my husband could not get past the exchange person. She insisted on putting him through to the call centre. Needless to say, he was not interested in hearing another call centre person telling him that someone would contact him in the next 48 hours, or that they woudl escalate this - it's been escalated twice now. In fact, it may even no longer be on their list because I received an sms at 3.30 today stating that this ticket is now closed.

So, I am beyond aggravated, and in the market for new, reliable service provision with a help centre which actually does. I would now not recommend Vodacom at all, despite my 20 year long relationship with them.

Thank you Vodacom Consumer Website Team for your reply.
Your reply ' kindly be advised that a consultant will make contact with you in due course' is exactly part of my complaint - you do not resolve my problem of not having access to my e-mail and after 168 hours and multiple conversations with various of your consultants I STILL HAVE NOT GOT USE OF MY PRIMARY E-MAIL and have wasted large amounts of time listening to your innane music and calling you repeatedly.
You have enjoyed 20 years of my loyalty - what a mistake to think that counts for something.
I even recommended you to my family and friends. Not anymore.
In fact, yesterday, when I told a friend about my troubles with you she immediately responded that I mustn't talk to her about Vodacom, because she just wants to put a bomb under you at your Knysna Vodashop because of your useless service.
Clearly I am not alone.
My complaint, however, reaches way beyond the pathetic local service and includes all but two of your call centre people and technicians. I wrote down the names of those two who did in fact put effort into trying to sort out the problem. Regrettably their actions were not successful.
I appreciate your warning about phishing - that is so far the only useful information you have given me.
I remain hugely annoyed,
Renette Nel
