Vodacom - ITC Listed

So in August 2017 there was ***** on my account at Vodacom. Someone decided they should take out 3 data contracts on my name and abuse the living hell out them and would just keep paying for this service. I followed the process as given to me by the representative at Vodacom and submitted my affidavit. Vodacom "investigated" the claims and said that it was ***** and the accounts were eventually de-linked.

The second part of this is the mess with the account after having the ***** numbers removed as I refused to pay for a service that wasn't mine. So in December 2017 Vodacom cut my lines due to non payment. I made payment on an outstanding invoice and proceeded to speak to a Edward in the cancellation department who assured me that my numbers had been converted to prepaid and that I owe Vodacom nothing going forward.

For two or three months I received zero value invoices from Vodacom relating to my account and then I received a call saying that my account is in arrears and at the point of being handed over. I requested a statement of the account only to find that they are still claiming I owed them a sum of money. We argued and about how the account could grow like this given that it should have been closed in December 2017. Nothing came of that.

The account was handed over to Hammond Pole Attorneys in June 2018 who proceeded to try and collect the money from me but eventually heeded my calls and started investigating the matter after they blacklisted me. It was found that there was ***** on the account and that everything was actioned in error. Nwabisa from Hammond Pole attorneys sent through a letter on 14 November 2018 saying that she has spoken to Vodacom and they have sent through a request to have the blacklisting removed. That process apparently takes 26 days to complete.

In the meantime I have sent this letter to the legal collections department at Vodacom and requested a letter stating that I owe nothing to Vodacom and no one ever responds. Not even an acknowledgement of the email, just no response.

I have all my conversations with Vodacom and Hammond Pole on record should this have to go the legal route to clear my name.

It is the most frustrating situation to be in and has taken more than a year to resolve.

Looking forward to the consultant contacting me. Just saw that according to your website my account still shows it is in arrears and there are no invoices or statements available for my numbers.
