Vodacom issue to cancel expired data contracts ....

This matter is also not sent to ICASA

Dear Vodacom cancellations department!

The correspondence below(to a mail address that does not work/exist) refers:

After pleading/begging/threatening - as could be seen below, you, Vodacom cancellations department, have once again proven to be the most ***********/********/unprofessional bunch of idiots that I have ever came across in my entire life!!!

Thank you to Nadine(+***3 – 18 September 2020 @ 12h15) for your sincere enquiry regarding my request below. After receiving a reference number from her(1/CBTN8673) for the first time since 31 August 2020, I thought that I had hit the “Jack-pot” regarding my request to cancel 4(four) of my irritating data lines!!

Her EMPTY promise to me of receiving confirmation on this request before 17h00 on Friday 18 September 2020 made me realise that VODACOM (SA) are openly *****ing money from their clients by not adhering to customer’s request to cancel numbers not under contract anymore.

I am done speaking to Vodacom…….

Arno van der Hoff 082(hope not for much longer) ***

From: Arno van der Hoff Sent: Thursday, 17 September 2020 11:34 AM To: '***' <***> Cc: '***' <***>; Ria vd Hoff <***> Subject: FW: QC ...

Attention: Vodacom cancellations department.

My name is Arno van der Hoff, ID 670408 ..., with Vodacom account number QC ...

I have been trying since 31 August 2020 to cancel 4(four) of the data numbers on my account. I have installed uncapped Wi-Fi in my house and do not wish to continue with the 4(four) numbers as indicated.

I find the staff in the cancellation department to be very unprofessional/*********** when dealing with customer’s request to do a cancellation.

Their (cancellation department staff) unprofessionalism includes:

 Using a “BAD” Vodacom line as an excuse  Making the client to “hold” the line to “investigate” the request to cancel  Not finding the numbers to be cancelled on the client’s account  Cutting the connection of the “BAD” Vodacom line after the client has been holding on for +/- 20 minutes  No issuing of a reference number pertaining to the request  No confirmation SMS/e-mail on cancellation requests  Making verbal attempts to the client to “reconsider” the cancellation request

I have been a “Loyal” Vodacom client for more the 20 years!! The recent unpleasant experience I had with the “Cancellation Department” at Vodacom will surely make me “reconsider my options” in future when looking at a mobile service provider!!

My last attempt at the notorious *** number was on 08 September 2020 at 15h27. The call lasted for 11 min & 44 sec’s. I managed to make some form of progress with my attempt to cancel the 4(four) numbers.

I informed the lady – Phanpazale/Phanzile/Phanpazole…..(too much call centre background noise to get her name) that I was recording the call - for quality purposes – and she agreed to send me a confirmation e-mail/SMS on my cancellation request before end-of-business on 08 September 2020. It is now 10(ten) days later with no response from the “Cancellation Department”!!

As a last option, I am using this platform to request Vodacom to cancel the following numbers on my account (QC 118880-0) with immediate effect:

 071 675 ...  082 529 ...  082 529 ...  066 236 ...

If there is no satisfactory response to my request by E-O-B on 18 September 2020, I will have no other choice but to use various social media platforms to inform “Fellow South Africans” on the poor standard of service at Vodacom (SA) – recording included!!

Thank you & regards

Arno van der Hoff ***

My question to Vodacom is why must I first take action on a platform like Hellopeter to sort out a simple action like a cancellation? Why couldn't the consultants from Vodacom not do their job, they are paid for?
