Vodacom is *********, a poor service provider

Vodacom is *********. I renewed my contract with them in September 2020. I did this without upgrading my phone with the Smart M+ plan. Therefore, I have a monthly premium of R385 to pay for 400 minutes, 400 SMSs & 600MB of data. This is a binding Contract for 2 years and I cannot decide that I’m not going to pay them the agreed amount each month. However, they feel that they can change the amount or benefits just like they feel.

Sometime last year they called me to inform me that my monthly premium is now R149 more than the contract price. I argued with them saying that this is not my contract and I will not accept it. They then put a discount of this ******* price increase against my account.

So last week they phone me again claiming that they no longer have the Smart M+ plan available and that I now have to move to another plan that has no minutes, less SMSs and more data with a per second billing @ a price of R150 more per month.

This is to inform Vodacom that this ******* and a breach of contract. If you change my benefits or my monthly premium I will sue you in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Vodacom’s reception is absolutely poor. Your service is non-existent. You are overly expensive. I can get more than my original benefits plus a phone from another service provider for only R199 per month. It is a disgrace that you act this way.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for the time and effort taken to voice your dissatisfaction to our office. It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any areas of improvement within our organization.

Kindly note that we have decided to end date some of our old price plans. We are now offering price plans which offers our customers better value for money. Please note that you may continue on your current price plan, until you upgrade or migrate your package.

We apologize for the inconvenience and the service experienced.

Regards,

The *********** Vodacom employee that phoned me and bul**** me the whole time during the phone conversation, made it explicitly clear that I have no choice.

I have explained to her that your version of better value for money is not mine.

We have non-existent reception from home. (I gave you a review about that on the 17th of May last year and still nothing has been done about that.) I have uncapped Wi-fi at home from another service provider with excellent reception. Why in the world would I need more data from you, that expires if I don't use it?

The expiry of data and minutes are totally ridiculous. How would you feel if you buy a bag of sugar and at the end of the month the supermarket come and takes back the unused sugar?
I'm sure you will have them charged with theft, but it is OK for Vodacom to do this to all their clients.

Don't give my number to any of your agents or employees to phone me about any of your deals, offers or false promises. You are not allowed to do this in accordance with the POPI act. I think everybody that you are constantly pestering should sue you so that you can go bankrupt.

Just reading trough the first 8 pages of reviews on hellopeter, makes it clear that Vodacom is *******, ************ and certainly not deserving of customers that have supported you for 23 years like myself.

I hope you really start changing your ways, if not I hope you get what you deserve. May every single business that you deal with in your private live treat you the way you treat your customers. A few businesses have felt the wrong end of the South African consumers anger. May you get that and so much more if you don't stop being day light ******s.
