Vodacom is the worst ISP for Fibre

Vodacom Fibre may possibly be the worst ISP for fibre, that one can find in South Africa. After 5 years , they mistakenly canceled my fibre connection on or about the 13th March 2025. Then they created a new installation a 2 days later. They had me open as SR request for the disconnected line. Then the new installation had High ping & Jitter issues, making any online gaming or Youtube video watching impossible because of the constant buffering. I have 50/50 Mps Fibre package, which performs exactly like an ADSL 192 Kb/s line. Just writing this review, is so difficult, that i almost abandoned the effort, so disgusted am i with this service. My ping, as of this writing, is 157.23 ms, with Jitter at 17.59 ms To put this into perspective. I have always enjoyed pings around 25 ms and Jitter about 5 ms. At these numbers, no buffering at all. Each time when lodging a service request , it gets acknowledge, with the status showing as open. Then after about 2-3 days, i get an email saying that the service request is closed. Nothing had been done to resolve the issue. Thereafter, i lodge another complaint with customer care, who the open a entirely new service request. Then the same thing happens to this service request. I get an email -- Status is shown as open-- 2/3 days later, service request closed. twice within this 30 day period, I've had a call from a senior consultant named Heather, who apparently attempted to investigate these complaints, but to NO effect. I even made Heather promise to sent a technician to my premises, to no avail. It is now one two weeks later, since i spoke to Heather. How pathetic is Vodacom's support service. I thereafter decided, to run my issue's up the "chain of command" to get more attention for my issues. Therefore, on Tuesday the 8th of Apr 2025, I insisted that the customer care agent connect me to a Team Leader. After holding on for what seemed like hours, I finally get to speak to a Team Leader named Taariq. He also promised to look into the problem. hearing nothing from Taariq for several days, I decided to sent him a Whatsapp message, on the cell number he provided me. So on the 11th Apr 2025, i messaged Taariq and attached a screenshot of my current Vodacom Business MTB Speedtest results. No response from Taariq. On Monday the 14th Apr 2025, i received the following email -- Your Vodacom Service Request SR*** for high ping and jitter at site Kuil River has been closed after being escalated to FTTX Support. I have no clue what this even means. Therefore, yesterday, Tuesday the 15th Apr 2025, i now decided its time to speak to the next in line of the chain of command, which will be a Supervisor. This was like trying to get parched through to the President. Holding on for what felt like an hour. In the end the customer care agent took my number and promised me his supervisor, would call me back. I didn't believe him and I told him so. I was right. I never received the promised call back. 30 Days and several Service requests later and i am experiencing line buffering that makes it an effort to even write this online complaint, i am on the verge of giving up and canceling this Fibre line. I may just do that, if i get no response from Vodacom at the end of the day. I think their whole support division should be fired and replaced with more competent people.

Reviewer Update
Whether getting a response from Vodacom and having them sending a technician to my premises, helped in resolving my problem, I must honestly say, NOT ONE INCH CLOSER TO A SOLUTION!!

As usual I received an almost immediate response from Vodacom. They even sent out a technician on the 17th of Apr 2025 who tested the router and concluded, that the problem definitely is NOT with the CPE, but out in the field. I assumed he reported back to the Vodacom support centre, because on the 18th of April 2025, i received the following email : Vodacom: Service Request SR*** status has been changed to 'Pending' status. That was the extend of Vodacom's response thus far. It is now the 24th Of Apr 2025 and nothing has changed on my fibre line. It still buffers non stop, still have very high pings and jitter. Any followup calls to the customer care line results in the following : " Your Vodacom service request SR*** with sub-status 'Handover' has been updated to 'Pending' status." , with no other explanation beyond that.

I have no idea, why this problem should drag on for weeks, with nothing seemingly being done.

I am seriously considering to canceling this service, because at present, i can only use this fibre line for checking emails. There are many LTE bundles that can do the same for a 3rd of the price that i am currently paying for this pathetic service.
