Vodacom is *****ing my money without telling me.

In April 2018 my daughter ported her cellphone number away from my account as she was starting to earn a salary. Today after a long call to Vodacom, they said that they created a ghost number on my account after my daughter ported her number away and kept billing me till today because I did not cancel the account with them. No one told me that if I port an account away that I also have to cancel the account. There is no logic in this and apparently, the Vodacom store cannot even cancel the account I had to phone a certain number to do it. If I port my account away to another provider it is logical that I do not want to do business with you anymore and is moving my business to another provider. My contract with Vodacom expired so I did not renew it and ported the number.

So in essence Vodacom billed me R6441 for an account that I cannot use or does not have any access to. No email or SMS confirming that they have done this, just a quite, let's bill him and hope he does not find out, action in the background.

And best of all, when I asked them to cancel this I was told that I must still pay the R402 at the end of the month.

If this is the way that Vodacom operates, they are no better than the people *****ing millions from the SOE's.

Wow, a guy from Vodacom phoned me eventually today and told me that they assumed that I would like to keep the contract after I ported the number out but I am not allowed to assume that they will close my account when my phone number is not with them anymore.

I ques if you are a might company like Vodacom *****ing R6441 from a consumer is legal just because your systems is setup this way. I am just wondering how many people is loosing money the same way than I am.
