Vodacom is ruining my life
Good day Please take note of the below query and assist urgently, I did an upgrade on my data package in February to a 5G top up contract with a tablet which totalled to R349 per month, I still had my old handset instalment of R149.99 on my package which made my total R488 odd until the old instalment fell away which I would then pay R349 per month. The below is my invoice/statement from July 2025, reflecting my new package with my old handset instalment included.
I called in to the customer service department in July to enquire on a migration to a lower package as I am not using the data, the man I spoke to said he could put me on a 100mb top up package at a cost of R169 per month all inclusive, I still double checked that it included my handset instalment and he said yes. He also said that the migration fee would be R1600. I worked it out with him on the phone, and it worked out to be a saving for me and I told him to proceed. Please pull up the recording of that phone call which will be ample evidence of what I am saying. So, I get my invoice in August, and it turns out that he was incorrect on the pricing and I was paying R263 per month instead of R169 per month, this turned out to not be a saving for me in the slightest as its R100 more than what we worked out together. See invoice below I immediately called back into customer service, explained the entire story and asked for the migration to be reversed as I was given incorrect information. I asked to be put back onto my old contract and the person I spoke to said that could see that I was correct in what I was saying and that it was an error on the consultants’ part and he would rectify it, he said it would reflect on the next statement. I was happy with that outcome as I was under the assumption that the error had been rectified. – Reference number *** So, I get my September invoice, and I see that the second consultant has not done what he said he would do, rather he migrates me to a 1G contract and provides me with a R350 credit on the original migration fee. This makes my total per month R372 per month. R372 per month for 1G per month PLUS a migration fee of R1300, whereas I was paying R349 per month for 5G. Does that make sense to you? Surely not. It makes zero sense, and I am absolutely appalled that not one, but two consultants got this to terribly wrong. I have now been barred from my phone as well as my home fibre and my credit score has gone down due to being in arears with my account because YOUR consultants messed up twice. It’s quite simple, A migration was done according to incorrect information being provided and the migration needs to be reversed. End of story, it’s not that complicated. Please ensure that this migration is reversed and the negative credit rating, you have given me, has been reversed and please URGENTLY unbar me. I have no issue putting this query in the paper and on social media If it comes to that, I have been waiting for assistance on this for 3 months and I have reached my limit. I have worked for Vodacom and been a loyal customer for my entire adult life and I will be leaving Vodacom after this, it’s very disappointing to not receive assistance from a company who I am paying every month. PS You will not when looking at my statement that I have continued to pay my bill as I should , except for the migration fee but yet you still Bar me and put my down as missed payments on my credit score. Thanks Roxanne
