vodacom is getting worse, how do you loose someone contract

I am so frustrated with vodacom again. i ave had a contract with them for as long as i can remember. I requested a previous contract before the one i have no and they cant locate my contract for an ipad i took either 2014 or 2015. i want to claim from insurance and need that as proof of purchase. Now tey tell me i must go to the vodacom shop i got the ipad initially and ask them what happended to my contract? donr stay in that area anymore. what happended t keeping documents for 7 years and what have they been debiting me for if they dont have the contract. there seems to have drama each time i need to contact them. how do you not find a contract
