Vodacom is fast becoming one of the worst service providers in SA.
We are fed up with Vodacom. My wife has a contract with Vodacom and in the last 3 months her data has disappeared 3 times (anything between 500 mb to 1 gb). The 1st two occasions the consultants had no explanation for why the data was disappearing but said they would investigate on their end and once they had found the problem, they would call her back and let her know what the issue was....this process she was told, would take 5-7 days. They did however concede that she was not the only customer who was experiencing this. Both times no one called back to explain anything but within 5 days the data was replaced. The latest incident though, which took place this morning, was different. So last night, while we are asleep, approximately 600 mb of data once again vanished. When she called in this morning, 31 October 2017, the consultant basically told her that the problem was on her end and not Vodacom's. When she told him that we were asleep while this data had disappeared last night he told her that that was impossible!!?? He then further tells her that she needs to upgrade her operating system (which has already been upgraded mind you), since that is the issue. She questioned why she was never told this on the other occasions and why the data was replaced on these other occasions and his arrogant response was, 'because you are demanding and you called in demanding your data that is why the replaced it'. He then further tells her that on the system it says that the previous times were the customers fault and not Vodacom's even though the data was replaced and advised her to go to a Vodacom store and update her OS. WHAT A LOAD OF HOGWASH!!!
How is it possible that such huge chunks of data vanish overnight while she is not utilizing the phone?? How is it that an operating system takes up huge chunks of data within a space of minutes?? There is a huge problem with Vodacom and instead of resolving it their consultants find it easier to blame the consumer.
I would advise all and sundry to try other service providers since it is clear that Vodacom does not value our business.
