Vodacom is dishonest.

I had a contract with Vodacom to supply me with an internet connection for a monthly fee. The debit order went through every month, but the internet did not work or worked 30% of the time. In fact for the first 3 months, it didn't work at all. I spent 18 months phoning and complaining. They do not have an email address so there is nothing in writing. They do not have a phone number. All they have is a call centre that makes it extremely difficult to get to a person. Every time you call you get a different person with a very different storey, and you are left thinking that it is all done on purpose. The company is set up to take your money and never provide the service. I finally went to ICASA and I received an email from them which contained the following. RESOLUTION. We contacted the customer telephonically and confirmed via email that the account has been closed and no further payments will be required from him. We also informed him that the credit bureau information will be updated within 7 working days. This was in September 2025. In March 2026 they debited my account with an amount that did not match my previous debit order. No email or explanation or warning. I woke up one morning and found they had taken money out of my account. I didn't even know that it was for the same account or contract. I returned the debit and asked the bank to raise a dispute. Vodacom then handed me over to the legal people who started to pester me. I sent them a copy of the email saying the account had been closed with nothing outstanding. This was their reply.

Kindly note that procedure is as follows, since calls are recorded anything agreed, discussed, or concluded needs validation or correspondence as proof and that is always send to the customers via email.

Hence the reason we ask for correspondence whenever we need to escalate any matter.

Failure to produce validation or correspondence means no escalation can take place.

In your case, it is difficult to assist you due to lack of evidence.

Really lack of evidence!!!

I have posted tis as a warning to people that Vodacom have no good principles, ethics or morality. Neither do the people or companies that work with. Just be aware when dealing with them. Regards
