Vodacom is *******, negligent and ***********
Vodacom incompetence knows no boundaries, as upgrade ***** was confirmed on my account on the 16th of March 2018 by Vodacom's Executive Client Liason Officer, but they have failed to self-correct and continues to add additional charges to my account because of their negligence. This speaks volumes about the *******ion inside the organization, as it is evident that they are trying to offset their losses by charging my account because of their gross negligence.
Vodacom's customer base are not protected and by Vodacom's own statistics this happens to 0.005% of their customers each year or +- 266 clients yearly. In my case they did not adhere to the necessary safeguarding procedures in order to protect my account from ***** and your account might be next.
My account has never been more than R707.40 in the past 9 months and afer the ***** currently sits at R31559.56. To Vodacom's credit they did advise that they are going to credit my account with R 27 510.10, but where does it leave me, the innocent victem, as this will still leave me with an outstanding balance of R4049.46, for which i am not liable.(R31559.56 - R27510.10). So let get this straight, because of Vodacom's negligence and failure to protect my interests, they are doing me a favour by reversing certain lines and charges and adding various other charges for no services rendered.
I have written numerous letter to the executive offices only to receive the same vague and embarrassing answers over and over again. They cannot explain to me why they are adding a handset installment , in the amount of R850.88 per month, which was part of the upgrade *****, to my account. I am on a Smart S package, in the amount of R183.33 p/m and last upgraded in February 2016, the phone i received was a Samsung J5 and i am currently using a S4 mini. How can they be this naive?
I spoke to the South African Police Services and according to them it is clearly ***** and i do not have to pay the additional handset installment. Vodacom is relying on the fact that i need the number for business purposes.
I have also requested assistance on the procedure to cancel my subscription, as i did not upgrade or authorize any renewal of my previous contract, as per their confirmation. My subscription is therefore renewed on a month-to-month basis and i want to cancel as soon as possible. It has become apparent to me that my personal information is not safe with Vodacom and that our relationship has irreparably broken down. I have to date not received any assistance in this regard.
I intend on voicing my concern on various social media channels and if they think my story is news worthy , M- Net 's Carte Blanche.
