Vodacom is astonishingly ***********

After once visiting their store with my parents during my school years, my parents were signing contracts. I checked out the phone covers they had, tried them on on my phone to see them while I waited for them to finish. Then afterward put my old cover back. As my parents got done and we were about to leave the store. We were stopped and I was accused of shoplifting them by one of their consultants. After being embarrassed in front of everyone, having to empty my pockets... only to reveal my old worn cover on my phone, we were allowed to leave, without their apology. My dad was so upset, he vowed to never return to that Vodacom store. As a teen that was my first experience with Vodacom.

As an adult, almost 20 years later, I decided during the Black Friday special, let me give them a shot - after boycotting Vodacom eversince that incident.

I was surprised at how quick I was able to take out the contract online. Took 5 minutes. No need to upload documents or anything. Approved, DebiCheck done. Felt too good to be true... Indeed it came with a catch.

I waited for the call from them to confirm my order. Unfortunately I missed the first call. But I kept my phone close, making sure to get the next one. Eventually, the call came again, I answered, but no one spoke on the other side. Then the call gets dropped. This happened repeatedly. I tried calling in, and out of all the consultants I spoke to, Gugu was the ONLY ONE WHO MADE EFFORT, AND WHO WAS FRIENDLY. All the others were so rude and dismissive. They didn't even care that I was unhappy and would even gladly transfer me to cancellations. I eventually got so fed up, as I was also told I wont be able to port my number... even though I was never given that option online. I have yet to speak to someone to confirm my order. Vodacom is absolutely, ridiculously ***********. So I decided to cancel. But in order to cancel, I need to type a Vodacom number during the call process - which I dont have. So Vodacom, I've been spending an entire day calling you to find solutions. But you surely lost me now for live!!! I will never ever recommend you to anyone.
