VODACOM: is anyone at home?
I had an account with Vodacom for a eifi rputer plus 1G of data per month.my mobile supplier is MTN. In August I phoned Vodacom to cancel this account and they agreed to this issuing me with a cancellation number. However for some reason this cancellation was not processesd. Believing the cancellation to have been effective I did not use the router at all since the date of cancellcancellation. I was shocked and horrified to find out that the cancellation was not put into effect and that debt accumulated to the tune of R760.
Vodacom have set a debt recovery agency on me to obtain this money and have ignored two emails I sent them pointing out that I believe I cancelled the account/contract. I have exllained to the Debt collection people that I believe the account was cancelled but they are determined that I should pay. An interesting new development since August 2023 is that Vodacom no longer receive calls made from MTN phones -- such calls are issued with a connection to a web site tgat is tgere purely as a facility to change from your old supplier to Vodocom. This does not seem to me to be the way to run a company, especially one as big as Vodacom. It seems whatever I do I just cannot get feedback from Vodacom themselves.
Please clarify.
