Vodacom is almost the new Telkom, data gone

On Monday 2 October 2017, I lost 11Gig data in one of my data contracts. It is a 10Gig contract, but I had 2 Gig carried over from September 2017.

I tried to update my Windows 10 which only went halfway then stopped, using 2 Gig. I would normally use night owl / 10 gig for updates, but the update to W10 was small so I used my normal daily data. The rest of my normal data disappeared.

I appear that it also went into out of bundle, amount owing R1875. The monthly subscription is only R300. No warning was sent to me when my normal data ran out.

I phoned Vodacom on Monday 2nd October after listening to the concert before you get to any consultant.

After being passed around from one person to another to find out what happened, the final guy said they will investigate and send me a refence number. Of course, I never received the sms.

At least I managed to contact Vodacom versus Telkom where you are phoning a brick wall.

On Wednesday evening I phoned Vodacom again, the new consultant on the line said that he can see the reference number and will sms to me. I did receive the reference number (1- ********** ********** ), together with a note that I must visit Vodacom.co.za for help.

I do not think the website is going to solve my problem, I tried but it, the Vodacom website could not give me an answer or solution to my problem.

I mentioned to him that I can see on my Vodacom app that the data account also shows a balance of R1875 due, but he said the balance is “only temporary”, no the final balance. The balance Thursday I afternoon was still R1875.

If you go into the Vodacom app there is place where you can request a bill of transactions / usage for the last 30 days at a cost of R10 (believe or not). I requested the statement, R10 deducted from my airtime. Guess what, I did not receive the statement. I am also not confident that this statement if I ever it will include the last week transactions.

If Vodacom cannot explain the loss of data 11 Gig and x-tra Gig for out of bundle which I must pay, what must I do, carry on trying to let Vodacom explain or open a case of the at the SAPS.

My request to Vodacom is reasonable, but they do not take customers inquiries seriously, do not care, or do not have the capacity to deal with queries. However, taking so long to look at a simple request is unacceptable.

I do know that they will not solve my problem, but I will not stop trying, ***** data / my property is ********.

I PLACE THIS 2ND COMMENTS ON HELLOPETER, EVEN THOUGH I WILL GET AN AUTOMATED STANDARD RESPONSE FROM VODACOM. I lodge this 2nd compliant again on 10 October Sunday on Hello Peter, with new comments, I will most likely receive an automated reply again with a message that a consultant will contact me, which is pathetic, an automated response will not solve my problem. It’s typical, I write my frustrations on Hello Peter, hoping that will solve the problem, but I get an automated response on Friday 6 October (re my first posting on 2 October on Hello Peter) that someone from Vodacom will contact me, which means nobody read me complaint and some random helpdesk person will phone me (that's if someone will phone me). I do not want to go through the problem with a helpdesk person who do not understand a basic problem, and who will pass me on to another consultant and then given a reference number, a reference number does not fix problems. My original compliant re the Monday 2 October call has not been attended to. I also do not explain the same problem to a new consultant. I lost 11 Gig data and other 6 Gig (R1875) out of bundle – if someone can check what happened. If you are serious about customers you will read or fami****ise yourself with problem first - which I have lodged earlier at Vodacom this week, Monday 2nd and on Hell Pieter on Thursday 5th. I will have to phone back using the “reference number” – nobody will be able to help me. Data is money, I purchased the data it is my property. Theft is theft, Vodacom must remember it is the customers and increased use of smart phones made Vodacom very rich and no benefit passed to customers, also called supply and demand. Why not use some of that money to train and implement proper customer service. Wednesday 4 October I phoned Vodacom helpdesk and chose the option, "a consultant will phone me back within 24 hours", today is Sunday, 96 hours later and no call back., I did not receive a call. To date no consultant phoned me. I was sent an automated response on Friday 6 October via Hello Peter that a consultant will come back to me, I will be really surprised if someone phones me back. I lodge this compliant again on 8 October Sunday on Hello Peter, with new comments, I will most likely receive an automated reply again with a message that a consultant will contact me, which is pathetic, an automated response from a system will not solve my problem. If a consultant does phones me back he or she must also please know what the problem is, otherwise we will have start from nothing again. This is Vodacom's policy not their customers which are highly frustrated. A computer system or automated response will not give me clarity on what happened to my data. The consultant passes you from one to the other, nobody takes any responsibility, and does not give a **** about the customers, sometimes you get cut off. The customers must use their own time to try and figure out what happened to their data. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE THAT A CONSULTANT WILL PHONE ME. GET SOMEONE WHO INVESTIGATED THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT AND THEN PHONE ME, I DO NOT WANT TO EXPALIAN EVERYTHING AGAIN.YOU ARE WASTING VALUABLE TIME.

Compliant 3 Not surprised, no feedback from call lodged at Vodacom 9 days ago and Hello Peter 7 days ago. Ref 1- ********** ********** I managed to find one of the problems but not the solution. On 3 Oct 2017 I was charged R1500 for 40 minutes at R37.5 per minute. The charge is claimed @ minutes and not data as they claim. This excludes the 11 Gig lost on 2.10.2017 I also picked up some misleading advertising, everywhere it is advertised that a Gig can be bought for R149 - and Vodacom directs you to *124#, but you can buy it at R79 by dialling the main menu *111# (half the price being advertised) How many people is not aware of this? Someone must lodge compliant at ASASA and check if W Appelbaum do have this recorded. It is unreal how much data disappear at a cost to consumer. I have noticed that up to R150 normal data disappear within minutes, without me doing anything, not even logged into internet. Also sold by Vodacom now is funeral cover, insurance - sign of greedy corporate which is supposed to be a Telecom company. FSB licence? Anyone? I need these charges R1 500 and normal 11 Gig lost to be adjusted, explained, who took my data? I cannot solve this problem by phoning the Vodacom helpdesk, already proven ***********. The NCC has many such complaints. 11 Gig lost on 2.10.2017 R1 500 charge on 3.10.2017 to be corrected

no4 17.10.2017 No surprise Vodacom did not contact me since 2.10.2017, after calling helpdesk, given a reference number, Call-back scheduled 5.10.2017, 3 letters to Hello Peter, many calls to data division. ********** . E-mailed customer service on 14.10.2017, no reply. A visit to Vodacom shop at Clearwater, they could not help. Also requested a statement of billings at R10 on website, still waiting for reply. 11Gig of my data disappeared between 2-3 October and another charge of R1500 in 45 minutes, R33.33 per minute. No warning re going out of bundle. Nobody at Vodacom able to help or explain I phoned ********** repeatable and get different answers, mostly they cannot help or there is reference number and "they" are looking at it?? Ref 1- ********** ********** Vodacom sells insurance, wonder if funeral monies ever gets paid out? Vodacom can collect monies but do not know or do not want to pay out. Well let’s play the game, I am the small guy, it’s my time which is not important, a nothing, just one of Vodacom’s many subscribers. A faceless corporate. Nobody in the organisation is empowered to say yes, I can help you, that in a company whose business is telecommunication
