Vodacom is a **** with contract dates.

I have been a client of Vodacom from 2010. I have more than one contract with them. Yesterday I wanted to check on the date that my laptop contract expires. I phone customer service.

A lady check and said that the contact only expires in July 2024. I said can't be as I took the laptop in April 2021. Which means that 36 months will end in April. She ask me to hold and come back and said the contract will be paid off in April but the device will only be paid off in July.... I then went and searched for the quoted and said no, I started the contract 14 April 2021. How can a 36 month contract now be 39 months. I ask for a supervisor as the lady said it has to do with the original contract. Supervisor was in a so called meeting. And would phone back in a hour time.

At 18h02 a lady called back from a 082 *** 1082 number.. Line was very bad and mostly I could not hear her. She had a different story, device will be paid off in April but the contract will only end in July. The same with my other laptop which is suppose to end in July but will only end in December which is 5 months later. That contact is now 41 month contract. I have been a client for years first time hearing that the now penalize for upgrading earlier. I also ask for the recording of the call as I want to confirm this what not mention previously. This lady said no... I am not allowed to hear this. She actually just put the phone down in my ear and phone back at 18h22 without resolving the issue.

My issue is still not resolve because Vodacom sells lies... You take out a 36 month contract but can pay up to 41 months for it. The best part is if you upgrade earlier the let you pay for your old device and the new one but then they still wanna add more months. A contract is a binding contract you can not cancel but Vodacom can extend the contract period and increase their price as from 1 April my cellphone plan and Fibre will increase.

People need to read this and be aware you will pay more months than 36 on a contract because Vodacom sells lies and the best part is you can not do any as the know they are wrong and will not share the recording. Time to contact the Ombudsman for telecommunication. I think my time has come to get in contact with someone higher as at this stage I am unhappy and pay Vodacom loads of cash for ****py service which increase although it's a binding contract. And Vodacom then still has the power to change dates as it pleases them to get more from their clients.

Dear Customer, Thank you for the time and effort taken to voice your dissatisfaction to our office. It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any areas of improvement within our organisation. As per discussion with the Call Centre Agents on 15 March 2024 you were advised of the following:

You've upgraded April 2019 and then again in April 2021. It is a 36-month contract.

With regards to cellphone number *** you've upgraded in the 19th month and is liable for the previous handset instalment.

You were advised of the price increase.

Regards

Vodacom Consumer Website Team

Best regards,

Dear Vodacom

You have not been in contact with me your agents had two different stories. Your second agent put the phone down in my ear and you put your reply privately scared that the world can not see what your write to clients.

I still do not have answers and no one was in contact it seems my next step is the ombudsman with the increases on the biding contracts as well as your long contracts and double payments on devices.
