Vodacom is a joke, but I'm not laughing

I have NO Vodacom signal at my home. Nada, nothing, nix..... despite having been assured by the Vodacom salesman that the area was covered when I took out the contract. I gave up trying to use my router ages ago, and EVERYONE knows not to try to phone me at home. It's a standing joke. Not so funny if there's an emergency, though.

However, very long story short, according to Vodacom I ran up an astonomical data bill a few months ago. With a router that was lying, unused, in a drawer. Despite numerous requests for someone to explain to me exactly how that happened, I've had no response. I've sent emails - I get an automated respose and nothing else. I've phoned over and over and over again, only to repeat my story over and over and over again, only to be "transferred" to another department (which means being cut off). I've asked for someone from Vodacom to come to my house and try to make a phone call so that they can understand that I HAVE NO SIGNAL and to show them that I'm paying for a service that I'm simply not getting. No response.

I've just wasted another 45 minutes of my life trying to lodge yet another complaint and to ask for a detailed exaplanation as to how I could have run up the ridiculous data bill. Eventually I gave up, and I'm not going to phone Vodacom again. I don't know how to get the attention of anyone at Vodacom who can actually do something besides "transfer" me to another department, but I've had it.

I'll await the automated response to this complaint....

Aah yes..... the automated response...

So, after the initial 45 minute fruitless phone call trying to explain to the customer care consultant that I have an ongoing query on the account, I received an sms saying that my calls have now been blocked. Another 45 minutes later (yes, I had to phone again.....) I'm told that "someone" cancelled my previous query against the reference number I was given. Wow Vodacom.... just when I think your service can't get any worse....

So here we are, another month down the line and no resolution from Vodacom. Initially I received a couple of emails from someone called Lucian, but now when I try to email him, the emails bounce back "undeliverable".

In the meantime, my cell phone lines are constantly being blocked and I have spent hours and hours, virtually weekly, phoning Vodacom to have the lines unblocked.

Once again, my previous query has been cancelled - so I'm back to lodging yet another service call and then repeating my details to umpteen people before the lines are, hopefully, unblocked. I spend hours listening to muzak and automated messages and when someone does eventually answer, it inevitably switches to the "rate the Vodacom service" message and I have to dial in again. Believe me, you don't want me to rate your service!!

I'm at my wit's end - I actually don't know what you're supposed to do to get a response from Vodacom. Why is it impossible to speak to anyone with the authority to actually resolve a query? I will never, ever use Vodacom again. I cannot wait for these contracts to run out.
