Vodacom is a *****
So on the 7th June I tried to connect to my Vodacom ****le it was unable to connect. Upon contacting Vodacom customer services (135), we were advised by Ephraim that an upgrade was done on my number: ******xx on the 06/06/2020 and a sim swop was done on the 05/06/2020 at a Vodashop/care in Riverside Mall in Mpumalanga.
I live and work in Simonstown, Capetown and I have never been to Mpumalanga in my life. I never requested for an upgrade, so I had no knowledge of the said upgrade and sim swop until today when my sim wasn't working and I contacted Vodacom Customer services.
Please find attached affidavit done at Simonstown Police Station on the 07/06/2020 and a certified copy of my ID with 3 samples of my signature on it.
Reference number provided by Vodacom Customer assistant: Ref ***
According to the information provided, the person that did the upgrade had a id copy but we were told that the issue date of this ID was different and the photo also.
I have been advised that the upgrade will be effective as of the 30 June 2020 and I would like to get this resolved before month end as I am not willing to pay the cost of a phone that I do not have.
I have since submitted the necessary documentation to Vodacom's ***** department and its way passed the 14 working days. Upon calling them I was advised that the ticket reference number had been closed as they were not able to reach me. I now have to resubmit the same documents and wait another 14 days while the ********* has full access to my number and is using the Samsung S20 that he **********ly obtained. This is an open an shut case as the person used a ********** ID with my details and his face and Vodacom has my original ID on record so I don't know why is it taking Vodacom so long to resolve this. I'm a long standing customer with Vodacom but will be canceling all my contracts after this horrible experience.
