Vodacom is a ****!

I took a cellphone contract with Vodacom and after a year and some months of paying I called them and asked if I could do an upgrade and I was told no. I was told I could only do an upgrade 5 months before my contract expires and that would be June 2023 since it would end in Nov 2023. I ended up taking a contract elsewhere. After having taken this other contract I called Vodacom asking them how much I would have to pay if I did an early cancellation, and the lady said about R900. I told the lady I hadn’t been using the SIM for months as I lost it and asked if they could charge me for just the phone and they said they couldn’t do that. I should go for a SIM swop instead. Because I only had 5 months to go I thought, okay it’s fine. R212 is not a lot of money anyway. Come December 2023 Vodacom debits my account again. I let it go cause I thought it was maybe my last one. In January 2024 they sent me a statement again for R212. I then called and spoke to a lady who told me yes the contract ended in November 2023 but I had to call to cancel. I asked her why when I had gotten into an agreement with them that said I would pay for a certain period, and why was I never told this in the many times I called. She then said she would cancel something and I would only pay for the data. I asked her why I was going to pay for data I don’t use? She couldn’t answer that. Instead she told me about how I was a good standing customer and could get another phone. I asked her why they continued debiting after the contract had ended and she said it’s because they’re still topping up my SIM. Again I asked her, if you’re charging me for the data, why does the amount still include the phone charge as well? Because they should have started charging me less from December onwards if they were just charging me for the data.
