VODACOM - invoicing unauthorized WASP services
Dear Vodacom,
Let it be known that Vodacom is complicit in allowing unauthorized WASP services to be activated without your knowledge and shows scant regard to both stop and resolve such activities. As such, you are part and parcel of the ********** activities that continue to be committed. So despite elevating this to the likes of IOL Personal Finance, Carte Blanche, ICASA and NCC it appears that additional steps are needed for you to take notice.
I have never and will never, search for, opt-in or authorize any third party service. Neither do I give permission to Vodacom to do so. My contract with you remains for a handset and a voice/data contract. Nothing more. You've stated that you can't cancel future subscriptions. Really, in this day and age you cannot deactivate a service? What are you doing to vet the WASP service provides and what action are you taking against them? If you are invoicing me for their services, there must be a terms of agreement.
Despite my last interaction with Vodacom saying that my case had been concluded and that a refund would be processed, more subscriptions have been added and we need to start the process of requesting crdits again. I am fully aware that Vodacom cannot demonstrate that I have authorized these services.
Furthermore I have taken to sending STOP ALL to 31050 daily. Despite receiving messages that there are no WASP services on my account, when I login to VLive new subscriptions have been added. As a test I sent STOP ALL to 30150, received a message stating no subscriptions, but still see active subscriptions on VLive. Somewhere you have a gaping hole in your system that needs to be addressed. My cellphone is pin protected and cannot be unknowingly access.
What I am asking you for isn't rocket science. A full credit/refund for all Vodacom Live services you have allowed to be activated without my authorization. In conjunction with this I demand that you cease all future WASP subscriptions on my account. I really don't care for the likes of Hungama Play, Viddigo, AYCE Games Weekly Adhoc, Like It, Hia Special, Cookies Factory, Real Time News, Mtutor, Pocoyo and Games. In total 97 subscriptions have been loaded in 2 months. That's just a wee bit excessive.
Your inability to resolve this is ********, which brings me to my next step and that is laying a case of ***** against Vodacom. I can only image what someone with less resources, who is less well informed and has less vigour would do. Probably not much, which means that Vodacom and the associated WASP's get away with their ill-gotten gains.
One and for all I would like this resolved and expect a call tomorrow, not from a consultant, but from a senior manager within Vodacom. I have too many references to mention, but my last one is listed in the complaint.
