Vodacom internal ***** matter STILL not resolved

Yesterday and the day before, I posted the complaint below on query ref EC-16B-2CZN48, which, more than a month later, remains unanswered and unresolved. Each time the Vodacom person who replies to hellopeter reviews said a consultant would contact me. Still nobody has called me. I've now made more than 50 calls to Vodacom, without any result. How can a company operate in this manner?

INTERNAL ***** AT VODACOM APPARENTLY COVERED UP BY LEGAL DEPARTMENT

I am not a Vodacom customer. And yet, every month they deduct R431.38 from my bank account, despite the fact that I have never been their customer and have never signed a direct debit to give them the right to take anything from my account. Clearly, this is a mistake, or internal *****. I've now cancelled the direct debit, but there are numerous historical payments that I cannot reverse (I don't check my transactions on this account regularly, as it's a secondary account). One would think it's easy to fix this -- call Vodacom, they'll check and see there's no direct debit and arrange for a refund. But no. Since 1 Feb, I've called the collections department no fewer than 42 times. I've corresponded with the legal department (one Loyiso) who undertook to investigate the matter and revert (ref no EC-16B-2CZN48), but then Loyiso disappeared and never responded to further inquiries. I've spoken to one Zanele, the escalations manager, and she said to call her again 3 days later, to give the legal department more time. Consultants in collections have since, at my request, emailed Zanele over and over again to get her to call me, but she has failed to do so. Every time I call collections, they escalate the matter to legal again and then nothing happens. I have spoke to the following consultants: Elemunah, Keamogetswe, Elana, Amanda, Ditshego, Phumeza, Vuthu, Rosalynd, Phillip, Theboga and Malebogeng. Either the collections and legal department do not function at all or, so it increasingly seems, they are covering up internal *****. In the meantime, I cannot speak to anyone at Vodacom who can help me, no matter how many times I call -- consultants in collections cannot connect me to anyone else, they can only escalate, and because the escalations manager is refusing to engage with her work, no escalation results in any action.

As this probably involves faud, it is a serious matter. And yet, Vodacom's employees do not seem to give a fig. Astonishing.
