Vodacom insurance unreliable
We have been avid vodacom customers for years, we recently put in a claim through voacom insurance, drove the device to the repair centre to reduce time which is 150+km away only to be told that we are using the incorrect sim card in the phone. Both my husband and I have contracts for S10 and S10+ with vodacom and both insured, so even the simcard inside the phone is insured. We are very dissapointed with the service recieved from Vodacom. We have been loyal customers but Vodacoms loyalty is disgraceful. Can someone please contact me from Vodacom!

23 Jan 2020, 15:54 I did speak to Tanya from Finrite on behalf of Vodacom. I don’t think that it is fair of Fin-rite/Vodacom to sign an agreement and include such a clause in their contracts. During the course of taking a contract out with Vodacom, which can go on for years, people are going to change their sim cards for whatever reason. People do. So knowing this, this clause shouldn’t be added. It has nothing and to do with the claim on the insurance. Maybe for a ****** phone for tracing purposes but not for a damaged one. Also, we have been paying premiums for months, with the other simcard inside and now ONLY at claim stage it is a problem, but to take the insurance premium for the previous months with the wrong sim inside was accepted. Isn’t that convenient?, people sign these agreements and forget – human nature. I am deeply disappointed by the response I have gotten from Vodacom and I am sure many other frustrated consumers have experienced the same. In our case both mine and my husbands phones are insured through Vodacom. So the sim card in the phone that is damaged, although not the same simcard, is still an insured simcard for the same value.
Can someone please look into our case and provide more positive feedback. This was my email to finrite and vodacom and the response i got from them is that they unfortunately cannot assist even though both sims have insurance for both phones.
As a vodacom customer I feel really dissapointed to find being a loyal customer and having many contracts for so many years and this is how you get treated at claim stage only.
