VODACOM INSURANCE THEFT

My wife upgraded her contract about 2 years ago. She took out insurance with her phone. After a couple of months her screen cracked. She took it to Vodacom Mountain Mill Mall, Worcester for repairs. They told her it would take 6 to 8 weeks to repair, and didn’t offer her a loan unit, or suggested a loan unit. Time went by and it got so difficult to use the phone, we had to make a plan. I upgraded my contract to get her a new handset. When time came for her to upgrade, the consultant notified us of the insurance on the old handset, which they can’t stop. Apparently, you have to phone the insurance dept. My wife phoned to stop the insurance, and the agent said that the insurance is still valid, and we should send the phone in for repairs. We thought this is a good idea, then we have a replacement if something should happen again. We did take it to Vodacom Wrc, which send it in for repairs Later Vodacom notified us that they can’t repair the phone, as it was not in service for 45days. THIS IS MY FRUSTRATION. Vodacom will gladly take you’re money for insurance, and not honor the repairs. Why did their system not detected that the handset is out of use, and phoned us to request if the insurance can be stopped? Instead, they just collected the money, and said nothing. THIS IS JUST PLAIN THEFT.
